Après la Classe (After Class)

Let your child’s journey begin with LDM Community Center. Our staff is very excited that parents are considering “après la classe” for their child’s after school program experience. Our program is designed to make a difference in the lives of individuals, from children to adults, one family at a time, by providing a safe, structured environment for their loved ones.

Research has shown that children who participate in quality after school programs, are most likely to have a better attitude towards their goals and a positive impact in thier academic, social behavior and emotional development.

In 2014, about 14 million students/children have been left unsupervised between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. These are the peak hours for hevenile crime. Additionally, the time of concern for parents who are working and do not have time to look after their children. This after school program is designed to benefit low-income families who cannot afford to put their loved ones in private after-school are.

Our goals as LDM staff members are to assist every child who enter LDM by mentoring them, as well as teaching them how to be fruitful in their life. Proverbs 22:6 says “train your child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Our staff will have the opportunity to do that by helping build good moral values, character, discipline, integrity, loyalty and leadership. The result is to be a better community, a community of excellence.

We want parenrts to know and be aware of the components of our program. We will offer assistance with homework for students, recreational activities like sports, music, art and others. All of these activities will allow the students to express themselves through their extracurricular activities.
